Did China steal Andrew Huff's attack list of US food facilities?
This section of C’s Newsletter is now devoted to quick takes on breaking news. I’m working on a review of anticancer potential of epifriedelanol, as I promised to do last week, based on a poll of what subscribers want to read. Medical topics are way more tedious and time-consuming than espionage and terrorism, believe it or not.
In this section today, I want to give some perspective on the news that Andrew Huff is breaking on an attack list of US food facilities that he helped to create. If you’re not familiar with this topic, here’s a video link on Rumble to get you up to speed. PROOF They're Deliberately Destroying Our Food Supply — Dr. Andrew Huff Interview. (It sure would be nice if you could embed Rumble videos on Substack).
I bought Huff’s book “The Truth about Wuhan.” Whatever the Truth about Wuhan is, according to him, I haven’t read it yet. I’m about halfway through it. He talks a lot more about himself that he does Wuhan so far.
One of the things that he talks about is his interactions with Chinese, including what he described as one Chinese spy, and some other unidentified Chinese government officials.
Huff said he was in Honduras for some type of military assignment. It’s not clear exactly when- Huff doesn’t date the event, but it seems to have been many years ago. He said someone sat down next to him at a bar and offered him money to guard diamond mines in Congo. He said he reported the event. “
(Pages 24-25). “Upon reporting to the SCIF, I was escorted into a conference room next to the Jz’s office where the army lieutenant (Jz) debriefed me on what had happened. He told me that the man was a well-known Chinese spy. I was shocked.”
He ran into more issues with the Chinese at the University of Minnesota.
At the University of Minnesota, Huff was informed what his PhD thesis was to be: “During our meeting (with Shaun Kennedy), he explained to me the problem that I was to investigate for my PhD thesis. NCFPD, in partnership with the US Department of Homeland Security, had collected data of all potential threats and hazards on most of the food and agricultural systems in the United States.” (Pages 64-65).
The NCFPD appears to reference the Food Protection and Defense Institute of the University of Minnesota. Their home page on the web says:
“The Food Protection and Defense Institute’s research, innovation, and education program is aimed at reducing food system disruption. With a keen eye for disruption, the Institute focuses on reducing the potential for contamination at any point along the food supply chain and places a high priority on addressing potential threats to the food system that could lead to catastrophic damage to public health or the economy.”
“The Institute incorporates cutting-edge research and innovation into our education initiatives across a wide range of disciplines including supply chain resilience, information sharing, risk analysis and assessment, education, epidemiology, economics, and many more. Collaboration across disciplines allows application of research and education initiatives to meet the needs of the food and agriculture sector.”
Later Huff made a presentation on his Thesis. Huff used scatter plots and multiple linear regression. I have to give him credit for using the correct statistical approach, even though I question the motives of the research. I’ve been talking about the power of it this type of analysis for a long time. You can turn pretty much anything into a function or formula. I’d like to cure diseases with it, like I’ve been telling my readers. (Scatter plots let you see data, pattern and understand data, without the need for statistics. You just see it and understand it. Your mind is extremely good at understanding patterns- it’s how everyone manages to drive around on multiple lane highways at 70+ mph without crashing. Statistical theory, not so much. The first thing I was taught to do in statistics at Auburn was just graph and look at the data).
(Pages 69-70). “I will never forget the first presentation to the DHS Food and Agriculture SCC/GCC at one of their quarterly meetings. I prefaced my talk with an image of the formula for a mixed linear regression model and the entire audience gasped when hit with the visual representation. I had not planned to discuss the formula; it was merely used to demonstrate my expertise.”
“After moving on to the next slide, I described how I had taken the hot mess of all the food and agricultural system threat and risk data provided to me by DHS and made sense of it on a colorful scatter plot, which demonstrated how DHS could generally and simply predict risk for each type of food facility or food production system in the entire United States.”
I’m not sure what his formula was, but he must have graphed the vulnerable food production facilities according to risk, or impact, on a map of the US, and showed it to the audience.
Representatives of Sandia National Laboratory were at the presentation. This is an important point, because SNL has a history of Espionage with China over nuclear technology.
(Page 70). “I recall looking around the room, and I could sense that many people were impressed to finally see something meaningful from the project, two scientists from Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) were smiling from ear to ear and immediately started asking me great questions.”
In the 1990s, Sandia National Laboratories was involved in a major scandal for providing the design for a W-88 nuclear warhead, to be used on US Trident submarines, to China.
Referencing Congressional Research Service report for Congress: China: Suspected Acquisition of U.S. Nuclear Weapon Secrets.
“On May 25, 1999, the House’s Cox Committee reported that China stole classified information on the W88 and six other U.S. nuclear warheads.”
“As one result of the W-88 case, the FBI investigated a Taiwan-born U.S. scientist at the Los Alamos lab, Wen Ho Lee. He was never charged with espionage. In December 1999, the Justice Department indicted Lee on 59 felony counts for mishandling nuclear weapons information (not classified at the time). Lee was jailed without bail until a plea agreement on September 13, 2000, when he pleaded guilty to one count of mishandling national defense information (for making copies of his computer files). The judge apologized to Lee.”
Someone told me once that the last refuges of a scoundrel are behind the Flag and the Bible. All you have to do anymore is say you’re the victim in front of a flag, no matter how deep you were in it.
With that brief background on Sandia and Chinese Nuclear Espionage, back to Huff at the University of Minnesota. (Pages 70-71): “Eventually, I was asked to apply at SNL (Sandia National Laboratories), and on-site interviews in Alberquerque, NM, were quickly arranged. A few weeks later, I flew down to SNL which is located on Kirtland Air Force Base. Since Sandia’s primary mission is the construction of nuclear weapons, the facility is one of the most tightly guarded US government complexes in the world.”
Yeah right.
Before he left Minnesota for good, Huff said he reluctantly participated in a photo op with some unidentified Chinese government officials. (71). “The saddest two moments of my PhD occurred as my departure from NCFPD was eminent (sic).”
“The first was that Chinese government officials were visiting the University of Minnesota and our research center to. discuss collaborating on mitigating a long list of biological and chemical threats tot the food and agricultural industry.”
(72). “I refused to participate in any of the meetings with the Chinese as I didn’t see the point in meeting with potential adversaries that seemed to nov have any interest in acting in food faith. At the end of their visit, I was forced to take a group picture with Col. John Hoffman and the Chinese. From the expressions on our faces, neither one of us was happy to be in the picture.”
No picture was included in the book.
With this background, it’s easy to see how the Chinese could have been interested in acquiring the list of vulnerabilities in the US food supply. As a “theory,” the attack on US food production facilities could have been implemented by directed-energy weapons, which can start fires, if they somehow had the means to operate them over the United States. When I use the term “theory,” that means I don’t know. It’s early in the investigative process. More facts are needed.
Of further note, Huff did undergraduate work at the University of Minnesota in Graphic Information Systems (GIS) that at involved smoke particles to some extent. This was in reference to Wuhan. He modeled particles from crematoriums in China into a GIS map. He also referenced wildfires in the Western United States, but did not say that he modeled them.
(Pages 7-8): “When human bodies are burned at crematoriums, they release large amounts of fine particulate matter into the air, which can be easily inhaled and caught in the lungs. Particulate matter (PM) comes in all shapes and sized but two of the most commin measured by institutions concerned with air quality and pollution are PM 2.5 and PM 10. The number after PM indicates the size of particle in micrometers, and high 2.5 and PM 10 concentrations i the air cause numerous respiratory diseases.”
“For these reasons, PM 2.5 and PM 10 data are collected continuously for numerous large cities or places with air quality concerns globally. Often these air pollutant data sets are loaded into and modeled by a type of software called a geographic information system (GIS) so that the dispersion and concentrations of the particulate matter can be visualized with a plume dispersion model. You are probably familiar with Google Maps or Google Earth, and these are simple types of GIS platforms that are used for land navigation or simple spatial analyses, and the map laver can be overlaid with other objects or shapes to represent various phenomena like wildfire origins and smoke plumes in the western United States during fire season.”
“Governments internationally from small cities to large national orgnanizations like the US and Chinese Environmental Protection Agency and from small private companies to large research-focused academic institutions provide the data for analysis in a GIS or provide an online GIS and plume modeling platform for PM of various sizes.”
“Since Wuhan, China and eastern China in general have significant air pollution problems, obtaining PM data down to the city block lievel is not diffucult, and many GIS and plume models already exist. So, in mid-December 2019, I analyzed the PM 2.5 data and created a map layer with pinpoints for the crematoriums in and around Wuhan, ad I found that the crematoriums were operating in overdrive.”
That’s all for now.
