Some Videos of Bodies loaded into Freezer Trailers in Governor Cuomo's Hospitals and Nursing Homes Death Spike in New York
Some people are skeptical that any bodies were ever loaded into freezer trailers during the “death spike” in New York in the Spring of 2020. I really don’t know why. They ask “where are the videos?” “We would have been bombarded with them.” Well it turns out that there were plenty of videos and reporting the whole time. “Were they actors,” they ask, when I say there are videos of bodies being loaded into them. Judge for yourself.
Some people question whether Donald Trump was telling the truth about freezer trailers for bodies outside Elmhurst Hospital.
Also note that Queens-based Funeral Director Omar Rodriguez described removing bodies from freezer trucks set up for Elmhurst Hospital in the April 7, 2020 video of Pix11 News “NYC burial system stretched beyond limits.” The video briefly shows some bodies in a trailer.
There are multiple other videos here that show bodies being loaded into the trailers, but the Pix11 News video of Omar Rodriguez is the only view of a trailer from behind that I have found.

Dead bodies were moved by a forklift into refrigerated trailer trucks outside Brooklyn Hospital Center, Tuesday, March 31. The bodies had to be quickly moved out of the hospital to accommodate more patients affected by the new coronavirus. New York has become the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in the United States as number of cases increasing to 75,795 and a death toll of 1,550. Worldwide, more than 800,000 people have been infected and more than 40,000 people have died, according to a tally kept by Johns Hopkins University.

Mt. Sinai Hospital Queens, ASTORIA, New York: At 11:08am, a body is seen removed from the emergency room and placed into a refrigerated trailer used to store coronavirus dead. Many patients being brought into the emergency room on stretchers. First responders are seen taking multiple precautions, exhausted and stressed nurses, one nurse giving a solidarity chest bump. PPE Equipment is disposed of in large trash buckets. We spoke to one hospital employee who told us that yesterday they all received a letter stating that if they speak to the press or take photos inside the facility they will face disciplinary action, including termination.

‘Those Are Bodies Right There:’ Passing by an Outdoor Morgue at a Brooklyn Hospital
A large fence has been erected outside a hospital in Downtown Brooklyn where bodies of coronavirus victims are transferred into two mobile morgues parked on the street. Video shot from outside and posted on April 6 shows the scene. #Coronavirus #Covid19 #CoronavirusNewYork #CoronavirusNYC #CoronavirusBrooklyn This footage, filmed outside The Brooklyn Hospital Center, is described as showing bodies on a stretcher surrounded by staff in protective clothing. Two refrigerated trailers partially covered with white tents – reportedly being used to store the bodies of COVID-19 victims – are also seen in the footage. The source, who has posted a series of videos from outside New York hospitals in recent weeks, said workers were loading bodies into the outdoor morgue on Monday afternoon. Video confirmed by Storyful shows a forklift loading what is believed to be a body into one of the trailers outside the hospital on March 29. Local media reported at the time that the hospital was transporting bodies from the hospital’s loading dock into a refrigerated trailer parked along Ashland Place, where this video is also filmed. The New York Times reported on April 4 that the hospital had “accepted two refrigerated trailers from the city’s medical examine” as funeral homes struggled to keep up with the number of dead. The report said the death doll from the virus at the Brooklyn center more than quintupled from the previous week.

NYC funeral homes struggle as virus deaths mount
Pat Marmo walked among the 20 or so deceased being held in the basement of his Brooklyn funeral home, his protective mask pulled down so his pleas could be heard. Like many funeral homes in New York and around the globe, Marmo's business is in crisis. His office phone and two mobiles are ringing constantly. He's apologizing to families at the start of every conversation for being unusually terse and insensitive, and begging them to insist hospitals hold their loved ones as long as possible. His company is equipped to handle 40-60 cases at a time, no problem. His roster as of Thursday morning numbered 185. "Maybe the government can help me and figure out a way that we can accommodate families in a more timely manner in a more dignified way," he said. Funeral directors across the city are taking unprecedented steps to address surging demand due to the novel coronavirus pandemic that has killed at least 50,000 worldwide and infected at least 980,000. Hospitals are inundated and trying to offload bodies to funeral homes, and cemeteries and crematoriums are booked for a week at least. Funeral homes have become the squeezing point in the middle. Marmo has about 20 embalmed bodies stored in the basement of his Daniel J. Schaefer home in Sunset Park and another dozen in his secondary chapel room, both chilled by air conditioners. Hospitals in New York have been using refrigerated trailers to store bodies, and Marmo is trying to find his own. One company quoted him a price of $6,000 per month, well beyond his budget, and he has nowhere obvious to put it, anyway. His hope right now is the police department across the street might let him use their driveway.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the New York City Chief Medical Examiner is now reducing the number of days a body will be held in the city morgue before it is sent to Hart Island for a temporary burial.
Stress, pushing Omar Rodriguez over the edge. “It’s extremely stressful. Because we are trying to accommodate these hospitals that keep calling us trying to get bodies out of there morgue because they're running out of space.” Rodriguez is a funeral director in Queens, but for days now, his phone has not stopped ringing. “Because we're getting families crying on the phone to us.” As the city’s system for burials is completely overwhelmed, Rodriguez was scheduled to pick up the remains of two people for cremation today from Elmhurst Hospital. Instead the remains were loaded intotrailers like this one and brought here to Bander's (sp?) Island. Rodriguez waited for six hours before he was finally able to gain access to the trailers. “What is not efficient is Funeral Directors having to go dumpster diving in these makeshift morgues where we're stepping on people's loved ones and dragging them over other loved ones.”

Coronavirus Outbreak: New York City Mayor de Blasio calls Hart Island mass graves a 'sad topic'
While New York remains at the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in the U.S., more people are being buried in mass graves in New York City. "It's a sad topic. Imagine anyone who passes away and there's no one there to claim the body," said New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio during his daily news briefing on Friday. The city has used Hart Island to bury New Yorkers with no known next of kin or whose family are unable to arrange a funeral since the 19th century. Typically, some 25 bodies are interred each week by low-paid jail inmates working on the island, which sits off the east shore of the city's Bronx borough and is accessible only by boat. That number began increasing in March as the new coronavirus spread rapidly. "What we have seen is an increase in the number of people passing away overall," said the mayor. "But it's being made deeper by the fact that more people are passing away because this disease." There are about two dozen bodies a day, five days a week buried on the island, said Jason Kersten, a spokesman for the Department of Correction, which oversees the burials. Before burial, the dead are wrapped in body bags and placed inside pine caskets. The deceased's name is scrawled in large letters on each casket, which helps should a body need to be disinterred later.

Manhattan Nursing Home Resorts To Storing Bodies In Refrigerated Trucks
The Isabella Geriatric Center is a nursing home in Manhattan, and has been hit hard by the novel coronavirus COVID-19. According to Business Insider, the facility listed an official tally of 13 deaths as of Friday. But now, it has had to use a refrigerator truck to temporarily store bodies after it recorded 98 deaths in a "horrifying" outbreak. A spokesperson for the care home has said that it has been struggling with staff shortages and a lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) for employees. Trucks for Dead Bodies Line Brooklyn Pier as Funeral Homes Are Overwhelmed
A south Brooklyn pier had become the site of an increasingly large temporary morgue, video from May 4 shows, as the rate of deaths due to the coronavirus continues to overwhelm funeral homes in New York City. Footage shared by local resident Josh Begley on May 4 shows several refrigerated trucks lined up at the 39th Street Pier in Sunset Park. “There are now 27 refrigeration trucks,” Begley wrote. “The scale of this unfathomable.” Photos shared by Begley showed two separate entrances to the lot – one for military vehicles and one for funeral directors. According to Gothamist, Executive Deputy Commissioner for the Office of Chief Medical Examiner Dina Maniotis said a previously-enforced 15-day deadline to collect remains had been lifted to ease pressure on funeral homes and families. The site would allow funeral homes to claim bodies between 8.30 am and 10.30 pm from May 5, the report said. According to the New York Post, 30 percent of the trucks had been filled as of May 4.

Cuomo on Report Over New York Nursing Home Covid Deaths: 'Who Cares?'
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo defended his administration’s handling of nursing homes during the coronavirus pandemic, saying “everyone did the best they could” with the facts they had at the time. Cuomo disputed a report from state Attorney General Letitia James, which found that the state Health Department may have undercounted Covid-19 deaths in nursing homes by as much as 50%, and may have obscured data available to assess the risk to patients. Before the report was released on Thursday, the Cuomo administration had reported about 8,700 confirmed and presumed Covid deaths at nursing homes, or 25% of the state’s total. The tally didn’t include nursing home residents who were transferred to hospitals and died there. Health Commissioner Howard Zucker said it was wrong to say the administration had not counted the deaths of nursing-home residents who died at hospitals, because those fatalities were included in the total deaths reported. Hours after James released her report, Zucker provided new data showing 9,786 confirmed fatalities associated with skilled nursing-facility residents. That along with another 2,957 presumed fatalities from earlier in 2020 adds thousands more nursing-home associated deaths, equating to 29.8% of the state’s total. The state didn’t initially release the data because it was trying to make sure it was accurate and there was no double counting, Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa said. The transfer data is reported by nursing homes, and was difficult to obtain quickly during the height of the pandemic, she said. “The total number of deaths has not changed,” Zucker said. “Reporting the number of deaths is always the hardest number to report out there, and we wanted to be sure that those numbers were accurate.” Cuomo and Zucker also defended state guidance from March 25 that required coronavirus patients be admitted into nursing homes, which James’s investigation found may have put healthy residents at risk. The governor blamed the controversy on a “political attack” started by the Trump administration. The state was following federal guidance, and nursing homes were not supposed to take in Covid-positive patients if their facility wasn’t able to properly isolate them, Cuomo said. “It’s a tragedy and I understand maybe the instinct to blame or to find some relief for the pain that you’re feeling, but it is a tragedy,” Cuomo said. “It’s not about pointing fingers or blame, it’s that this became a political football.”
