Thoughts about Wuhan Institute of Virology "Lab Leak" on a Saturday

We need Facts, not Theory

This short substack is more about my approach to research than observations from said research. I take research like this seriously. It isn’t easy. It’s frustrating. One thing I’ve learned, that most people sort of know already, is that almost all media is disinformation in one form or another.

Let me give you an example: Think about what you know about Bill Clinton and Little St. James Island. You’ve probably heard by now that Bill Clinton flew on Jeffrey Epstein’s “Lolita Express” 26 times. It’s saturated into social media everywhere. One extremely important detail that’s misconstrued in the public- not once did Bill Clinton fly to the Virgin Islands on Epstein’s jets. Not once. Yet Bill Clinton was also reported to have been on Little St. James Island, which means that Bill Clinton traveled there another way. Submarines, helicopters, and other people’s jets are all travel options that were available to Clinton, but those inquiries are not pursued because everyone falsely believes he flew there on Jeffrey Epstein’s jets. If you looked at the flight logs, the original source information, you would see that he never flew there. Always look at original sources. The media intentionally creates false assumptions on your part.

So here recently, after the Wall Street Journal reported recently that the Department of Energy had determined with low confidence that the most likely source of the SARS-CoV-2 virus was from a leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), I questioned what their assessment was based on.

It seems to me like the Intelligence Community of the United States should have confirmed or denied by now that the SARS-CoV-2 virus was among a group of viruses listed on a public website of the WIV. This database was widely reported to have been taken down by China on September 12, 2019. All the private analysis that I’ve seen suggesting a WIV Lab Leak assumes that SARS2 was among the viruses listed at WIV, and that WIV pulled the list down because they didn’t want the evidence out there.

Maybe SARS2 was in there; maybe it wasn’t. It’s a simple question to answer- but not with theory. It’s impossible to answer with theory. The NSA knows the answer, not as theory, but as a fact. The NSA records all internet activity. There is absolutely no way they don’t have everything that China listed about viruses on a public website. So why don’t we get to have that information? Why are we forced to be stuck in “theory” land?

I use “theory” myself. Sometimes I find enough facts to prove my theories, sometimes I don’t. There’s not enough to prove what happened at WIV. When you have a thin set of facts, the tree of possibilities can become quite large with hundreds of plausible theories. The more facts you have, the more you cut down the size of that tree. This tree is bigger than you think, because a virus could have come to China by countless ways. If the US could just confirm or deny that SARS-CoV-2 was or was not among the viruses at WIV, we could make a stronger theory. It’s obvious by now that they don’t want us to know the truth, whatever it is. They want us to guess, and they especially want us making guesses based on false assumptions. It’s always been the CIA’s media strategy.

Well that’s enough of that. Let’s take a look at some original sources of information on the WIV database. I was looking through this mess again today.

This information comes from 3 researchers at DRASTIC, Billy Bostikson, Gilles Demaneuf, and one unidentified (which isn’t me). They wrote a paper called “An investigation into the WIV databases that were taken offline,” published February 2021.

They linked to a google archive of usage of the website Batvirus.whiov.ac.cn. After a period of dormancy where no one seemed to care about Batvirus dot China, in April of 2019, someone started taking a major interest in it.

By June, they were hitting it hundreds of thousands of times. Shi Zhengli described a hacking attempt of the database at some point. And it looks like someone downloaded something from WIV 6 times in June 2019.

And what are we really talking about here, when we talk about a virus? We’re talking about a genetic sequence. A series of letters and numbers. The “leak” from WIV could very easily be a download from WIV. All that was left was for someone to print the virus and take it to China, if that’s what happened. It’s plausible. The NSA knows exactly who downloaded whatever was downloaded from WIV, but they Never Say Anything.

A “Lab Leak” could just as easily have been a hack.

Then something interesting happened in August. According to the DRASTIC paper:

batvirus.whiov.ac.cn had been online for a few years, saw a version 2 released in June 2019, went inactive for a week during the second half of August 19, before becoming definitely inaccessible (out of the WIV at least) on the 12th Sep 19. It was online intermittently after this date from mid-December 2019, and occasionally until February 2020, but was not accessed from outside of the WIV after 12 September2019. 

Second half of August? On August 02, 2019 Fort Detrick shut down.

All research at a Fort Detrick laboratory that handles high-level disease-causing material, such as Ebola, is on hold indefinitely after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found the organization failed to meet biosafety standards. No infectious pathogens, or disease-causing material, have been found outside authorized areas at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases. The CDC inspected the military research institute in June and inspectors found several areas of concern in standard operating procedures, which are in place to protect workers in biosafety level 3 and 4 laboratories, spokeswoman Caree Vander Linden confirmed in an email Friday. The CDC sent a cease and desist order in July.

What’s my theory here? Not much. The US (CIA- Mike Pompeo) has been pointing at Wuhan Institute of Virology as the source of SARS-CoV-2. China has been pointing at Fort Detrick. These were the two dominant Narratives and Counter-Narratives in the CIA and CCP controlled media, probably both bullshit narratives, knowing them. Assuming they colluded, they are putting false narratives out.

If you’re not familiar with China’s complaints about Detrick, here’s some “China Daily” news for you, that I saved from when I was looking into the SARS2 origins at both WIV and Detrick, and determined that evidence was too thin to make a conclusion. I’m still there. Too thin.

One of the few facts we have in all of the “origins” theory is that China sent out an email on January 10, 2020, with the SARS-CoV-2 virus sequence. A freaking email. BioNTech got it, Moderna got it, Robert Malone got it. On January 13, 2020, Rick Bright (BARDA) said they needed the actual virus “We need to get virus samples to USG colleagues ASAP. Sequences alone are insufficient for potential mcm development and assessment.... For national security, we need more.”

There’s a whole timeline of interesting communications. I’m half inclined to put it all together and make a theory out of it, but I’m sick of theory quite frankly.

Communications could tell the story, if we get more of them. Robert Malone told Joe Rogan: “I was the guy that first acquired, because I had Chinese connections, the Chinese protocol for treating this virus.   I got it in late February, and I sent it in to my buddies at the CIA and at the ASPR, at the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response.” Robert Malone also said that Michael Callahan called him from China on January 04, 2020, and described Callahan as CIA.

OK. So who are Robert Malones connections in China? Who are Robert Malone’s “buddies” at the CIA that he emailed? Who are Michael Callahan’s colleagues in China? Etc.

We need facts. We need every communication between Robert Malone, ASPR (Robert Kadlec), the CIA, Michael Callahan, and anyone in China. These facts are relevant to investigate “what really happened in Wuhan.”

If Robert Malone wants to be known as some sort of transparent whistleblower, he will provide that information to the public. This isn’t a witch hunt. I’m just sick and tired of using “theory” while relevant facts into the origins of COVID are concealed. Is this too much to ask?

And if he wants to get pissed off and sue over it, I think I’ll file motions for discovery, unlike the people he’s suing at the moment.

According to his lawsuit: “Like Ruby, Peters and Red Voice Media have falsely accused Dr. Malone of working with the ‘CIA’ to kill people around the world.”

Anyway, those are my thoughts for today.
