What astounds me, Charles, is that so many who denounce the mandates and the vaxx, yet still refer to "the pandemic" and to "covid" as if they're real: I still hear "I've got covid" even from those who think they're awake to the scam. Ditto for the many "official inquiries into the pandemic response" as if it was the "response" that caused all the havoc. Response to WHAT... that they won't ask.

The situation was complicated by the fact that nobody in the general population was even interested in health matters. We routinely fell ill, went to doctors, got a prescription or a referral, did what we had been told, and got back to our old normal.

There was no reason to ponder about “trust” or reliability of the knowledge. Medical assistance was a routine, and successful outcomes were pretty much standard.

Bad health development was associated with old age and sort of accepted as part of our life. Cancer was definitely part of advanced old age and also accepted, if you can say it in reference to health problems at all. Palliative care was reserved for old age or highly complex cases. The general population had no reason to “research” or ask questions. Doctors and nurses had no reasons to verify their routine practices. Accidents - or unusual complications - happened, but that is also the case in all areas of life.

The breakthrough came with the whole medical legacy (including the appreciation of HCWs commitment) being shredded in favor of a single novel product developed at novel warp speed against a single novel condition.

The alarming immediate consequences, and in high numbers, tipped the scale and people started asking questions. Doctors and nurses should also have redefined their position, responsibility and procedures - but very few did. Whatever the reasons, we (the humanity at large) have lost the entire medical field, all courtesy of one product of unknown backstage origin. Astounding.
